Change Orders

Document and get sign-off on scope changes. Change orders work exactly like estimates — same builder, same signing — just tracked separately.

Change Orders Are Estimates

A change order is built with the exact same editor as an estimate — the only difference is that it's numbered CO-… and tracked on its own so it never muddies your original contract. Create one from a project's Estimates tab with + Change Order, and use the Change Orders filter to see just those.

Getting Sign-Off

Send the change order to your customer for electronic signature, the same way you send a proposal — including sequential signing when more than one person needs to approve. It moves through draft → sent → approved (or rejected). Signed in person instead? Mark it approved directly.

Revising a Rejected Change Order

If a customer rejects a change order, click Create Revision to spin up a new version with the next revision number. Edit the scope or price and resend — the record of what was rejected stays intact.

Billing a Change Order

Approved change orders add to the project's contract value and can be pulled into an invoice just like the original estimate, so the extra work actually gets billed.
